Gelling Landscape Studio were commissioned to develop a landscape strategy ideas for communal gardens for resident consultation on a modular, Passivehaus development on a mansion block rooftop in SW London.
Under the proposals, the residents of the existing Art Deco apartments would benefit from enhanced communal gardens and attractive street-frontage planting.
The strategy proposes sub-dividing existing lawns to establish a series of gardens including an open play-lawn, kitchen gardens, screening to parking areas and enhancements to the appearance of street-facing gardens.
A rich, pollinator-friendly tapestry of plants with an extended flowering season, wrapping around the west, north and east frontages of the block.
The project is currently on hold with potential to proceed with design in 2021.
